About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced live-in housekeeper to join a lovely, down-to-earth family in Oxshott, Surrey, near Cobham and Esher. This private household role offers £50,000 per annum plus £70 per week personal allowance, live-in accommodation and a 3-day long weekend every other weekend.
The family are relaxed, friendly and really value the people who work with them. You’ll be looking after their beautiful new home, working closely with the House Manager. It’s a large property with some lovely finishes, so experience as a housekeeper in a private home or high-end hotel is important, but above all they want someone warm, reliable and easy to have around.
What You’ll Be Doing
Housekeeping
- Keeping the home clean, tidy and well presented, following a simple daily, weekly and monthly routine
- Caring for quality materials such as marble, hardwood, crystal and antiques
- Making beds, changing linens and preparing guest rooms when needed
- Looking after the main living spaces, including the kitchen, gym, pool area and cinema room
Laundry and Wardrobe
- Washing, ironing and steaming clothes and linens, including some delicate fabrics
- Keeping wardrobes organised and helping with packing for family trips
- Keeping track of dry cleaning with the House Manager
General Household Support
- Keeping an eye on household supplies and helping with shopping runs
- Letting the House Manager know about anything that needs fixing
- Helping with occasional simple meals when needed
About You
- At least 5 years’ experience as a housekeeper in a private household, luxury residence or high-end hotel
- Knowledge of caring for quality finishes and fabrics
- Friendly, calm and happy to pitch in
- Works well alongside a House Manager and can use your own initiative
- Discreet and respectful of the family’s privacy (an NDA will be required)
- Clean record and DBS check
