We are recruiting an experienced part time housekeeper for a private home in Stockwell, South West London (SW9). This is an ongoing role of 8 to 9 hours per week, paying £25 per hour, ideal for a domestic housekeeper with private household or five-star hotel experience. This would be a great role to work with an existing part time position.
Easily reached from Brixton, Clapham, Oval, Vauxhall, Kennington and wider South London, with Stockwell Underground (Victoria and Northern lines) close by.
About the Household
We are delighted to be supporting a lovely young professional couple who are looking for a highly accomplished housekeeper to care for their home. The property is a beautiful semi-detached house set across three floors, with two bedrooms, two sitting rooms and three bathrooms.
The Housekeeper Role
Our clients are keen to welcome someone who takes real pride in their work and can keep the home immaculate, organised and beautifully presented at all times. This is a trusted position: you will be a key holder and manage your own time, so a proactive, self-motivated approach is essential.
Duties include:
- Cleaning throughout the home, including hoovering and dusting
- Caring for fine finishes and furnishings, using the correct products and techniques for each surface
- Laundry and ironing, including folding and putting clothes away neatly
- Changing beds weekly
- General tidying and keeping the home in order
- Wardrobe organisation and keeping cupboards beautifully arranged
Working Hours
- Monday: 4 to 5 hours
- Thursday: 4 hours
- OR Tuesday
There is some flexibility, with Monday, Tuesday or Thursday being the preferred days. The couple would love a long term arrangement with someone totally committed.
A Role to Grow With
This is a wonderful long-term opportunity. The couple hope to welcome a dog in the coming year, so you must be comfortable around dogs and happy to take them for the occasional walk. Hours and responsibilities may increase over time. More hours can be offered.
About You
- Proven experience as a housekeeper in a high-end private home or five-star hotel
- Excellent, verifiable references
- Sound knowledge of cleaning products and their correct use on different surfaces, including marble, natural stone, wood, glass and delicate fabrics
- Immaculate attention to detail and a natural flair for organisation
- Reliable, discreet and trustworthy, comfortable being a key holder
- Able to work independently and manage your own time
- Comfortable with dogs
