This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Housekeeper, Family Assistant or Mother’s Help looking for a rewarding live-out position within a private household. More than a traditional housekeeping role, this position offers the opportunity to become a trusted extra pair of hands, supporting busy family life whilst maintaining an immaculate home.
The family have three children, together with family pets, so applicants must genuinely enjoy both children and animals. We are looking for someone who is kind, patient, proactive and organised, with the confidence to work independently and anticipate the family’s needs with a great energy.
The Role
As the family’s Housekeeper / Mother’s Help, you will take pride in maintaining a beautifully organised home while providing practical support with the day-to-day running of the household.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Full housekeeping to an exceptional standard
- Daily cleaning, tidying and organisation throughout the home
- Laundry, ironing and wardrobe care
- Preparing healthy, nutritious family meals and school lunches
- Supporting the children’s daily routines, including homework, reading and organisation
- Preparing school bags, uniforms and everything needed for the following day
- School collections and transporting the children safely to clubs and activities
- Providing calm, patient and encouraging support, recognising each child’s individual needs
- Caring for the family’s three dogs and two cats, including feeding and general day-to-day care
- Running household errands and assisting with light household administration
- Liaising with tradespeople and deliveries when required
- Managing household supplies and ensuring the home remains fully stocked
- Using initiative to identify tasks before being asked and keeping the household running seamlessly
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Housekeeper with previous employment within a private household. Applicants may also come from a Family Assistant, Mother’s Help, Nanny Housekeeper or similar private household background.
The successful candidate will offer:
- Previous experience working within a private household
- Outstanding housekeeping and laundry skills
- Excellent cooking skills with a passion for preparing healthy, family-friendly meals
- A full, clean UK driving licence and confidence transporting children safely
- Experience supporting neurodivergent children (highly desirable)
- High standards of organisation and attention to detail
- A proactive, hands-on approach with excellent initiative
- A calm, warm and patient personality
- Absolute discretion, professionalism and reliability
- A genuine love of children and confidence around dogs and cats
- The flexibility to assist when family life occasionally requires additional support
