The road to freedom is looking promising after the government announcement on Monday 29th March 2021. Wedding receptions with hundreds of guests and parties filled with bulging dance floors is still a way off, but it doesn’t stop intimate gatherings being creative and extravagant. In the past, you may not have thought of hiring a luxury event planner to accommodate a garden gathering for 2 households, but this past year has made us redefine the rules when it comes to entertaining.

What are the guidelines for gatherings?

The stay-at-home rule has ended as the Government has dropped its “stay local” messaging. So households are no longer explicitly told to remain in their geographical area.

The ‘rule of six’ has now returned which means that six people from six different households are allowed to meet outside. Alternatively, two households (which could potentially total more than 6 people) could also meet outside, including outdoor public spaces and in private gardens. So although we are encouraged to minimise travel, there will be no repercussions for driving a few hours to meet-up outside as long as you return that day.
